Immobilized Antibodies - A Newer Approach to Measurement of Released Neuropeptides

AW Duggan and I Hendry

Measurement of transmitter release the central nervous system has been difficult because the collection device often is many times larger than the releasing neurones and hence produces considerable trauma. By immobilizing binding proteins for released compounds to the outer surface of glass microelectrodes, we can now measure release of neuropeptides in the absence of significant trauma.
