Cell Membrane in Hypertension

An increase in extracellular calcium concentration over a range of 0 to 5 mM causes membrane "stabilization". This stabilizing action of calcium is less effective in tissues from hypertensive animals, suggesting that less calcium is bound to the membrane of tissues from this source.
