The Number of Animals

I McCance

In deciding the number of animals required for an experiment the biologist must achieve a balance between several interacting and competing elements. Recent widespread legislative changes, directed to a wider scrutiny of this decision process, may affect that balance. The consequences are examined and shown to be potentially detrimental.
