New Perspectives in the Research of Pineal Gland

The pineal gland is considered to be an important neuroendocrine organ. Besides its effect on reproduction, the pineal gland can also regulate other endocrine and nonendocrine functions. More recently, it has been discovered to be involved in lipid metabolism and immune system regulation.
