Afferent and Efferent Glomerular Arterioles: Their Role in Glomerular Filtrate Formation

J Heller

Glomerular capillaries, the site of glomerular filtration, are positioned between afferent and efferent arterioles. Interplay of these vessels plays an important role in determining filtration rate. Many hormones, autacoids, and drugs can differentially affect their tone, thereby modulating the glomerular filtration rate.
