Modification in Early Ontogenesis of the Stress Response of Adults

EV Naumenko

Stressors or changes of corticosteroid balance during an early period of individual development yield long-lasting modification of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenocortical system. These effects are mediated, at least partially, through the developing noradrenergic system of the brain. The type of modification depends on the stage of ontogenesis and on animal genotype.
