Modulation of Tumor Necrosis Factor by Reactive Oxygen Metabolites

Tumor necrosis factor is generated in inflammatory lesions of the glomerulus. Its release and binding are regulated by simultaneously generated reactive oxygen metabolites. The main consequence is a limitation of autocrine and paracrine action of tumor necrosis factor without any reduction of its systemic activity.
