Hypoxic Hypometabolism in Mammals

During hypoxia, the drop in metabolic rate, a well-known phenomenon in invertebrates and lower vertebrates, is also a frequent occurence in mammals, both newborns and adults, and seems to be largely related to the control of thermoregulation.
