Neuropeptides in Sympathetic Nerves Affect Vagal Regulation of the Heart

Until the last decade, autonomic neurotransmission at the heart has been described in terms of the classical transmitters acetylcholine and norepinephrine. Now modulation of this neurotransmission by neuropeptides colocalized with norepinephrine and acetylcholine sheds new light on an old story.
