Insights From Intraneural Recordings of Sympathetic Nerve Traffic in Humans

Microneurographic recordings reveal a marked differentiation between sympathetic traffic to different effectors (skin and muscle blood vessels, sweat glands) both with regard to firing pattern and responses to maneuvres. Consequently, data from one sympathetic nerve/ effector and physiological/pathological condition cannot be generalized.
