About the Cover
On the cover: CD1 mice were exposed to combined
hypoxia/hypercapnia (CIH/CIC) for 10 days, and brain
cryosections were stained with an antibody to cleaved caspase
3 to detect apoptotic cells. Top: a negative control
where the primary antibody was omitted. Magnification
40; zoom 2. Bottom: coronal sections from exposed
mice showing DAPI in blue and cleaved caspase 3 in red
and demonstrating co-localization of cleaved caspase 3
and damaged and morphologically deranged nuclei
